What is Rolfing?
Rolfing Structural Integration is a form of hands-on manipulation and movement re-education which was developed by American biochemist Dr Ida P Rolf in the 1940’s. The objective of Rolfing is to integrate human structure and function in the field of gravity.
Certified Rolfer’s work sensitively over a series of carefully structured sessions to create space and fluidity in the body’s connective tissue or myofascial system, releasing tensions which pull bones out of alignment or cause life limiting movement restrictions. Rolfers are also trained to “see” and help modify any unconscious postural or movement patterns and thereby alleviating the cause as well as the symptom for truly holistic and long lasting change.
Some of the benefits you may expect from a full series of Rolfing Structural Integration,
